ODESZA
Seattle duo scaling bright, vocal-chopped electronic music up to drumline-and-horns spectacle, with 'Say My Name' and 'Line of Sight.'
Harrison Mills and Clayton Knight met at Western Washington University in Bellingham and started ODESZA in 2012. The records layer chopped and pitched vocal samples over big, slow-building synth arrangements, with guest singers on many of the songs. In A Moment Apart and The Last Goodbye pushed the sound toward something orchestral. Live, the duo works behind twin drum pads and brings out a horn line and a drumline, turning the tracks into something closer to a marching band arrangement.
