Oruã come from Rio de Janeiro and are led by Lê Almeida, who also records solo and runs the Transfusão Noise Records label. The band works with distorted guitar, tape-saturated recording and long instrumental passages that shift between krautrock-style repetition and free noise, with Portuguese vocals mixed into the murk rather than placed on top of it. Their live sets tend to stretch songs well past their recorded length.
