The Lumineers

No festival dates we track

Denver duo Wesley Schultz and Jeremiah Fraites at the centre of a folk band built for singalongs, with piano and cello doing the heavy lifting.

The Lumineers began with Wesley Schultz and Jeremiah Fraites, who met in New Jersey and moved to Denver, where they found a cheaper city and a folk scene to play in. Their self-titled debut carried "Ho Hey" and "Stubborn Love", built on strummed acoustic guitar, kick-drum stomp and group vocals.

Later records are quieter and more narrative, including one written as a set of linked songs about a family and addiction. Cello and piano carry much of the arrangement on stage, where the band expands to a larger group.
