keiyaA is Chakeiya Richmond, a singer and producer from Chicago who later based herself in New York. She writes, arranges and produces her own material, building tracks from sampled loops, keyboards and stacked layers of her own voice.
Her music sits between soul, R&B and experimental electronic production, with jazz and spiritual-soul reference points and lyrics that tend toward the interior and self-addressed. Her debut album, Forever, Ya Girl, was released in 2020 and drew attention for the density and independence of its production.
