Liz Cooper is a guitarist and songwriter who spent years based in Nashville before relocating to Brooklyn. She first drew notice leading the band Liz Cooper & The Stampede, whose sound combined fingerpicked folk patterns with long, loose electric passages.

Her guitar playing sits at the centre of the music, moving between delicate acoustic figures and extended psychedelic jams, with vocals that tend toward the unhurried. Later work has leaned further into rock arrangements and studio texture while keeping the improvisational looseness of the earlier material.
