Jersey emo with a soft-focus streak — the band that once released a triple concept album and meant it, sincerity as a career-long dare.

The Early November formed in southern New Jersey around singer and guitarist Ace Enders, and became part of the early-2000s emo and pop-punk scene associated with Drive-Thru Records. Their music combines acoustic-leaning songwriting with rock arrangements, favouring plainspoken, earnest lyrics. In 2006 they released a three-disc album, one disc of full-band songs, one acoustic and one a spoken-word narrative, an ambitious project that divided listeners. The band broke up not long after and later reunited, with Enders continuing to write and produce in the interim. Their later records have leaned toward a more measured indie rock sound.
