Uncle Waffles is a DJ and producer born in Eswatini and based in South Africa, working in amapiano, the log-drum-driven house style that emerged from the townships around Johannesburg. She came to wide attention through a widely shared clip of her dancing while DJing, and dance remains central to her performances, with choreography built into the sets rather than kept separate from them. She has since released her own music and toured internationally, becoming one of the more visible faces of amapiano outside southern Africa.
