DJ EZ is a London DJ who has been central to UK garage since the genre's late-1990s peak. He built his reputation on pirate and commercial radio, including a long stint on Kiss, and on the Pure Garage series of mix compilations, which introduced the sound to a wide audience beyond London clubs.
His reputation rests largely on technique: rapid-fire two-step mixing, heavy use of cutting and doubling, and sets often played across three or four decks. He has continued to tour and record mixes long after garage's first commercial wave, and remains a reference point for DJs working in the style.
