Cameron Winter is a singer and songwriter from Brooklyn, best known as the vocalist of Geese, the band he formed with school friends as a teenager and which released the albums Projector and 3D Country. Where Geese work in a loose, guitar-driven rock idiom, Winter's own material is sparer, built mainly around piano and his voice.
That voice is the most immediately identifiable thing about him: a nasal, strained, heavily inflected delivery that slides between crooning, muttering and yelping, often within the same line. His solo debut, Heavy Metal, appeared at the end of 2024 and set long, digressive lyrics against arrangements that stay deliberately unpolished.
