Chase Rice
Former college football player turned Nashville songwriter who co-wrote 'Cruise' before fronting his own arena-sized run — later records trading bro-country for starker, rootsier writing.
Chase Rice is an American country singer and songwriter based in Nashville. He played college football at the University of North Carolina before turning to music, and he is among the co-writers of Florida Georgia Line's "Cruise," one of the biggest country singles of the 2010s. His own early releases, including "Ready Set Roll," placed him within the party-oriented country-pop of that era.
Later in his career Rice moved toward sparser, more rooted arrangements and first-person writing, working with a smaller sonic palette than his radio singles suggested. He continues to tour extensively as a headliner.
