Goat are a Swedish group who perform masked and costumed, with members generally unnamed, and who have built an origin story around the northern village of Korpilombolo and its supposed traditions of ritual music. Whether or not that history holds up, it has framed the band's presentation since their first records.

Musically they combine fuzzed guitar and acid-rock soloing with Afrobeat and other West African rhythmic patterns, percussion-heavy arrangements and wordless or chant-like female vocals. Recordings tend toward long, groove-driven jams recorded with a deliberately raw, analogue feel, and the live show retains the masks, robes and dancing that make the band as much a visual proposition as a musical one.
