Brooklyn art-rock institution built on Tunde Adebimpe's tremulous falsetto and dense, horn-flecked production — anxious dance music for the end of something.

TV on the Radio formed in Brooklyn in 2001 around Tunde Adebimpe and David Sitek, later joined by Kyp Malone, Jaleel Bunton and Gerard Smith, who died in 2011. Their music combines art rock and post-punk with electronics, looped guitars, doo-wop-influenced vocal layering and frequent horn arrangements, much of it shaped by Sitek's dense production.

Records including Desperate Youth, Blood Thirsty Babes, Return to Cookie Mountain and Dear Science established them as one of the more widely praised American bands of the 2000s. Adebimpe also works as an actor and visual artist, and Sitek has produced for a range of other performers.
