Howie Day is a singer-songwriter from Bangor, Maine, who first drew notice in the early 2000s for solo performances in which he built arrangements onstage with a loop pedal, layering guitar, vocals and percussion in real time. His debut, Australia, was self-released before he signed to Epic, and the 2003 album Stop All the World Now included 'Collide,' the acoustic-leaning single that became his most widely heard song and a fixture on adult contemporary radio. He has continued to record and tour, largely in the acoustic pop-rock mode that defined that period.
