Dutch producer and DJ who builds sets as long melodic arcs rather than a run of peaks, with Detroit techno and deep house underpinning the whole thing.

Joris Voorn was born in the Netherlands in 1977 and trained as an architect before turning to music full time. He emerged in the early 2000s and co-founded the Rejected label, later launching Spectrum as an outlet for his own releases and a wider roster.

His productions and mixes have generally favoured melody and texture over blunt impact, drawing on Detroit techno, deep house and tech house without settling permanently in any of them. He is known for densely layered mix work, including a contribution to the Balance series that wove together a large number of tracks at once, and for albums that leave room for slower, more ambient passages between club tracks.
