Drum & bass royalty — the Ram Records founder whose double-drop mixing largely defined what a D&B set sounds like.

Andy C is the stage name of Andrew Clarke, a British DJ and producer from Essex who has been a central figure in drum & bass since the genre's early years. He set up Ram Records as a teenager in the early 1990s, and the label went on to release music by artists including Chase & Status, Sub Focus and DC Breaks. As a producer he is best known for his work as Origin Unknown alongside Ant Miles, whose "Valley of the Shadows" remains one of the most recognisable records of the jungle era.

His reputation rests largely on his mixing: fast, tightly cut blends and layered double and triple drops delivered at high volume, an approach that earned him the nickname "The Executioner". He has also become known for playing extended solo sets rather than short guest slots, and for the Nightlife series of mix compilations.
