Leicester's swaggering electro-rock survivors — two decades of festival-sized choruses built for exactly this, with Serge Pizzorno running the show out front.

Kasabian formed in Leicester in the late 1990s around Tom Meighan, Sergio Pizzorno, Chris Edwards and, later, Ian Matthews. Their self-titled debut arrived in 2004 and paired swaggering rock guitars with looped electronics and dance rhythms, a combination they expanded across Empire and the more sprawling West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum. Pizzorno has written the bulk of the material throughout, and since Meighan's departure in 2020 he has also taken the role of lead singer. The band's reputation rests largely on their live shows and on a run of songs built around blunt riffs and singalong choruses.
