Lyn Lapid is an American singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Maryland who first drew attention through short videos posted online, where clips of her songs and ukulele playing circulated before she had released much formally. She signed to Mercury Records and has since put out a run of singles and EPs.
Her songs are built around soft, close-miked vocals, understated guitar and ukulele parts and restrained production, with lyrics that often address the strangeness of growing up with an audience. She is of Filipino descent and has spoken about that background in relation to her work.
