MC Cabelinho grew up in Rio de Janeiro and built his following on funk carioca before shifting toward melodic trap and romantic songwriting, which is where most of his streaming audience found him. He also acts, most visibly in the series Vai na Fé, and the visibility from television widened his reach considerably. His songs tend to be sung rather than rapped, with sparse beats and lyrics about relationships and life in the favela.
