Rhett Akins is a country singer and songwriter from Valdosta, Georgia. He recorded for Decca in the 1990s and reached number one on the country chart with "That Ain't My Truck," alongside other singles from the same period. In the years since, he has become better known as a Nashville songwriter, co-writing a long run of hits for other country artists, often as part of the writing team known as the Peach Pickers. He is the father of country singer Thomas Rhett.
