Before releasing music under his own name, Ryan Hurd built a catalogue as a co-writer in Nashville, contributing to songs recorded by artists including Tim McGraw and Luke Bryan. His own material leans toward a soft-edged, pop-informed strain of contemporary country, with conversational lyrics and unhurried, mid-tempo arrangements.
Hurd issued a run of singles and EPs before his debut full-length, Pelago. He is also known for "Chasing After You," a duet with Maren Morris, to whom he was married, and which became his most widely heard recording as a performer.
