Starset is a rock band from Columbus, Ohio, formed by singer Dustin Bates. Their music combines heavy guitars and radio-scaled melodic hooks with electronics, strings and other cinematic arrangements, and the band frames its work within an ongoing science-fiction narrative involving a fictional organisation, the Starset Society.

The group's debut album, Transmissions, introduced them to rock radio through the single "My Demons," and they followed it with further albums that expanded the concept. Live, the band performs in space-suit-inspired costumes and presents shows as "demonstrations," with staging and visuals tied to the story.
