Bluegrass five-piece built from three Quicksilver alumni when Doyle Lawson retired, gospel-leaning harmony carried by the picking pedigree they brought.
Authentic Unlimited formed in 2021 around musicians who had played in Doyle Lawson's Quicksilver, among them Jerry Cole, Stephen Burwell and Eli Johnston, with mandolinist Jesse Brock alongside them. The records lean heavily on sacred material, with four-part vocal arrangements sung tight enough to work without instruments behind them. The instrumental side keeps to the Quicksilver template: clean mandolin and banjo breaks, fiddle used for shading rather than showmanship. The group has also recorded Christmas material.
