Flaw
Louisville band from the early-2000s nu-metal wave, still working the same mix of downtuned churn and confessional vocal hooks.
Flaw came together in Louisville, Kentucky in the mid-1990s and spent years working the regional circuit before signing to Republic. Their major-label debut, Through the Eyes, appeared in 2001, arriving in the middle of the nu-metal boom and yielding the single "Whole." Fronted by vocalist Chris Volz, the band paired downtuned, percussive riffing with lyrics that leaned toward personal struggle and self-examination rather than aggression for its own sake. A second album, Endangered Species, followed in 2004. Line-up changes and a long break followed, but the group has since returned to recording and touring.
