Daughtry

2 festivals played

Chris Daughtry's band, which turned a talent-show runner-up finish into one of the more durable American rock careers of its era — big-chorus post-grunge built for arenas.

Daughtry is an American rock band formed in 2006 around singer Chris Daughtry, who had come to national attention as a contestant on American Idol. Its self-titled debut arrived that year and sold in large numbers, spinning off radio singles including "It's Not Over" and "Home," and the group has continued releasing albums and touring since.

The sound is melodic post-grunge and mainstream hard rock: mid-tempo guitar riffs, polished production and choruses pitched for large rooms, carried by Chris Daughtry's rough-edged baritone.
