Hannah Jadagu
Texas-raised, Sub Pop-signed bedroom indie — hushed guitar pop with considerably more muscle live than on record.
Hannah Jadagu grew up in Mesquite, Texas, and began releasing music while still in high school, recording early songs largely on an iPhone. She signed to Sub Pop, which issued her debut EP What Is Going On? in 2021, and later moved to New York to study.
Her songs pair soft, close-miked vocals with layered guitars and programmed drums, sitting somewhere between bedroom pop and indie rock, with lyrics that touch on family, faith, adolescence and the news filtering into daily life. The full-length Aperture followed in 2023, filling out the arrangements while keeping the understated delivery of the earlier recordings.
