Six-member Korean group whose singles run on cool self-possession rather than sweetness, from 'Eleven' through 'Love Dive' and 'After Like.' Two members came up through IZ*ONE.

IVE debuted under Starship Entertainment in late 2021 with "Eleven," and the group's approach was clear from the start: mid-tempo dance-pop delivered with a certain haughtiness, closer to poise than cuteness. Wonyoung and Yujin had already spent two years in IZ*ONE, the project group formed through the Produce 48 competition, before joining Gaeul, Rei, Liz and Leeseo.

"Love Dive" and "After Like" pushed that persona further, the latter built on an interpolation of Gloria Gaynor's "I Will Survive." The songs tend to move on a steady four-on-the-floor pulse with a chanted hook, and much of the group's identity rests on how the members carry themselves through it.
