aespa is a South Korean girl group formed in Seoul and debuting in 2020 under SM Entertainment, with members Karina, Giselle, Winter and Ningning. The group launched with a concept involving virtual counterparts, or ae, and an accompanying fictional world that has run through much of its releases and visuals.
Musically the group works in a dense, electronic-leaning strain of K-pop, with hard synth drops, chanted hooks and abrupt structural shifts. "Next Level" and "Supernova" are among their best-known singles, and the group has been closely associated with the fourth generation of K-pop acts.
