Kaitlin Butts is a country singer from Tulsa, Oklahoma, working in the red dirt tradition that runs between her home state and Texas. She released her debut, Same Hell, Different Devil, in 2015, and followed it with What Else Can She Do, a record whose songs took the perspectives of women in difficult circumstances. Her 2024 album Roadrunner! drew on the musical Oklahoma!, borrowing its characters and structure for a set of songs about a woman leaving home. She sings in a strong, unfussy twang and is known for pairing dark subject matter with a comic streak on stage.
