This Never Happened boss — phone-free deep-house journeys that reward patience, melodic sets built as arcs rather than drops.

Lane 8 is the project of American producer and DJ Daniel Goldstein, now based in Colorado. He has released albums including Rise, Little By Little and Brightest Lights, and runs the label This Never Happened, which also gives its name to his club nights and tours.

The music is melodic deep house, generally mid-tempo, with warm pads, filtered vocal parts and long build-ups rather than abrupt peaks. The This Never Happened shows are known for their no-phones policy: attendees are asked to keep cameras away for the duration, a rule Goldstein introduced to change how audiences behave during sets. He also issues seasonal mixtapes collecting new and unreleased tracks.
