Classically trained, which is audible in how carefully his heaviest drops are constructed — precision-tooled dubstep with composure under the chaos.

Kompany is the Denver-based stage name of producer Kyle Hagberg, working in heavy bass music, principally dubstep. Before turning to electronic production he played drums, shifting focus only after watching Skrillex perform live; he later studied sound design at Icon Collective and worked afterward as a designer for the sample company Cymatics.fm.

He has a background in classical training, and his productions tend to be tightly arranged, with drops built from carefully layered and edited sound design rather than sheer volume. He is associated with the harder, more technical end of American dubstep, releasing through labels including Disciple.

His early collaborative tracks included "Sice" with producer G-Rex, and a remix, later followed by a VIP mix, of Slander and YOOKiE's "After All" made with fellow producer Wooli. His EP "Kill Humans" appeared on Firepower Records, the label run by Datsik.

Later releases included a remix of RL Grime's "Reims" made with B-Sides, the track "GENOCiDE" with duo YOOKiE, and "Overheat," featured on a various-artists compilation from Never Say Die Records. He has also released extended plays, including Revolt, New Reign and Metropolis, directly through Never Say Die.
