Marshmello is the stage name of American producer Christopher Comstock, who performs in a white helmet styled after a marshmallow and has kept his face out of public appearances since the project began. He surfaced around 2015 with remixes and original tracks that paired melodic future bass with straightforward pop structures.

His singles include "Alone", "Silence" with Khalid and "Happier" with Bastille, all of which crossed from dance audiences into radio. He has also worked with pop and hip-hop artists across a range of collaborations, and performed a widely reported in-game concert inside Fortnite.
