Philly folk-rockers grown into amphitheater singalongs — warm, road-tested, communal, with 'Silver Lining' as the nightly high-water mark.

Mt. Joy formed in 2016, taking its name from a hill in Valley Forge National Historical Park near Philadelphia, where singer Matt Quinn and guitarist Sam Cooper attended Conestoga High School together. The two reconnected in Los Angeles years later and began writing, eventually completing the band with bassist Michael Byrnes, drummer Sotiris Eliopoulos and keyboardist Jackie Miclau.

The band's early singles, "Astrovan" and "Sheep," gathered streaming attention quickly enough to bring Eliopoulos and Miclau into the lineup and earn a deal with Dualtone Records in 2017. Their self-titled debut appeared in 2018 and established a sound rooted in folk-rock and Americana, with electric guitar textures and organ filling out Quinn's songs.

"Astrovan" and "Silver Lining" brought the group early attention, with "Silver Lining" reaching number two on Billboard's Triple A chart, and steady touring has since moved them from clubs to larger outdoor venues in the United States.

Rearrange Us, recorded with producer Tucker Martine after a tour with the Lumineers was cut short by the COVID-19 pandemic, arrived in 2020. Orange Blood followed in 2022 and Hope We Have Fun in 2025, widening the palette with blues-rock and psychedelic touches while keeping the melodic, singalong choruses that anchor the live show.
