Louis The Child

1 festival played

Chicago duo making dance music that smiles — playful future bass with pop instincts.

Louis The Child is a production and DJ duo from the Chicago area, made up of Robby Hauldren and Freddy Kennett, working together since the early 2010s. Their music sits in the future bass area of electronic dance music: bright synth chords, pitched vocal samples and melodic drops, generally arranged with pop song structures and guest singers rather than long club edits.

The pair drew early attention with a remix of Ellie Goulding's "Tove Lo"-era material and with their single "It's Strange," and have since released a run of collaborative singles and EPs alongside a full-length album. Their sets lean on that catalogue plus edits of pop and hip-hop, and the two perform together behind a shared booth.
