Oregon folk-country riser — earnest, streaming-era troubadour with a fanbase that found him one chorus at a time.

Max McNown is a singer and songwriter from Bend, Oregon, working in a country-leaning folk style built around acoustic guitar, plainspoken lyrics and a warm, slightly weathered vocal. His songs tend toward the reflective — family, faith, growing up and leaving home — delivered without much studio ornamentation.

Like a number of his contemporaries, McNown built an audience largely online, posting short performance clips that circulated widely before he had much of a conventional release history behind him.
