Bowie-indebted glam played by Yorkshiremen in New York — one enormous single, plenty of swagger, 'In the Meantime' still soaring.

Spacehog formed in New York in the early 1990s around brothers Royston and Antony Langdon, both originally from Leeds, England. Their music drew openly on 1970s British glam rock, with Bowie and T. Rex among the obvious touchstones, filtered through the alternative-rock production of the era. The 1995 debut Resident Alien produced "In the Meantime," which remains the song the band is best known for and which has outlasted much of the period's radio rock. The group broke up in the early 2000s and later reunited.
