Scott Yoder is a Seattle songwriter who first drew attention fronting the garage-rock band The Pharmacy before moving into solo work. His records lean on the glam and baroque pop of the early seventies, with orchestral touches, acoustic strumming and a vocal style that owes something to Marc Bolan and the more theatrical end of British rock of that era. He performs with a deliberately dandyish stage presence, and his songs tend to pair bright melodies with a melancholic undertow.
