Catskills barn-band Americana — ragged, literate, and joyful, story-songs played like a family argument in the best way.

The Felice Brothers began in New York's Catskill Mountains in the mid-2000s, originally featuring brothers Ian, James and Simone Felice, and played early shows busking in New York City subway stations. Their music draws on folk, country and roots rock, with accordion, fiddle and piano alongside guitars, and a loose, communal performance style that invited early comparisons to The Band. Ian Felice writes most of the lyrics, favouring narrative songs populated by drifters, criminals and small-town characters. Simone Felice later left to pursue other projects, and the lineup has shifted over the years while the band has continued recording and touring.
