Charles Wesley Godwin is a singer and songwriter from West Virginia. He grew up in a coal-mining family near Morgantown and played college soccer before turning to music, and his songs draw heavily on Appalachian places, work and family. He self-released his debut album, Seneca, in 2019, and has since built an audience largely through touring and word of mouth, backed by his band the Allegheny High. His voice is a deep baritone, and the arrangements sit between country and folk-leaning Americana.
