The Moss
Provo-formed indie rock with a tropical lilt, and one of the Utah scene's genuine breakout stories — breezy hooks with island warmth.
The Moss are an indie rock band that came together in Utah in 2018, with members meeting around Provo's college and DIY music scene. Their songs pair jangling, reverb-washed guitars with loose, surf- and island-inflected rhythms, a sound that has been traced in part to one member's Hawaiian upbringing.
The band built an audience through steady touring and streaming rather than through a single breakout release, and has become one of the more widely heard groups to emerge from the Provo scene in recent years.
