DONTTRUSTME and the rest of the MySpace-era catalog, played fully self-aware — neon electro-rap chaos that has aged into a gleeful, shout-along riot live.

3OH!3 is the Boulder, Colorado duo of Sean Foreman and Nathaniel Motte, who met as students at the University of Colorado and formed the group in 2004, taking their name from the area code that once covered the whole state. Before teaming up, Motte was DJing local hip-hop shows and Foreman competing in MC battles, backgrounds that shaped the group's blend of rap delivery and dance production.

The duo built their sound around blocky electro-house synths, programmed beats, and vocals that shift between rapping and shouting, a combination that placed them at the crossover of pop, dance and internet culture in the late 2000s. Their self-titled debut album was recorded in their own basement before they signed to Atlantic imprint Photo Finish Records.

"DONTTRUSTME" became their commercial breakthrough, reaching number seven on the Billboard Hot 100 and going five-times platinum. "STARSTRUKK" was reissued as a duet with Katy Perry and reached the top ten in the UK, Ireland, Finland, Poland and Australia, while "My First Kiss" featured Kesha and came from their third album, Streets of Gold.

3OH!3 toured the full Warped Tour circuit and joined Katy Perry on a European tour, building a following on the strength of a live show that leans hard on the era's biggest hooks. The pair have continued to perform those songs since, playing the material as a shared, shout-along experience for audiences who grew up with it.
