Two String Cheese members improvising entire electronic sets live, with nothing pre-written — dubstep and house conjured on the spot, never repeated.
EOTO is the improvised electronic duo of Michael Travis and Jason Hann, both members of The String Cheese Incident, formed in 2006. The pair build entire sets on the spot using live instruments, loopers and effects, with no pre-recorded backing tracks or set lists, so no two performances repeat.
The results move through dubstep, drum and bass, house and glitch-leaning territory, with Travis and Hann layering bass lines, drums and percussion in real time. The project became a regular presence in the American jam and livetronica scenes, where its improvised method connected the two worlds.
