TikTok's bass virtuoso turned real-deal funk-pop star — slap-bass hooks front and center, with the chops to back up the viral fame.

Blu DeTiger is a bassist and singer from New York City who began playing bass as a child and later worked as a DJ in the city before releasing her own music. She gained a wide following posting bass performances and remixes online, and has since released her own songs built around prominent, funk-derived basslines with pop melodies over them.

Her recordings mix disco and funk rhythm playing with contemporary pop production, and she has performed as a bassist with other artists as well as fronting her own band. Live, the bass stays at the center of the arrangement rather than sitting behind the vocal.
