The model-actress behind the decks — a party-starting celebrity DJ set built on crowd-pleasers rather than crate-digging.

Cara Delevingne was born in Hammersmith, London, in 1992 and grew up in Belgravia. She attended Bedales School, where dyspraxia and depression made things difficult, before leaving in 2009 to sign with Storm Management. She had already worked a first modelling job at age ten, in an editorial for Vogue Italia.

Her runway breakthrough came in 2011 at Burberry, after which she walked for every major house in London, Paris, Milan and New York, forming a lasting working relationship with Chanel's Karl Lagerfeld. She was named Model of the Year at the British Fashion Awards in both 2012 and 2014, becoming one of the most in-demand faces in fashion before easing off runway work as her acting career grew.

On screen she started with a minor part in Anna Karenina in 2012, then moved into larger roles in Paper Towns, Suicide Squad and Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets, alongside the series Carnival Row. She has picked up Teen Choice Awards and nominations for a British Independent Film Award and an MTV Movie & TV Award along the way.

Behind the decks, Delevingne plays club and party sets built for dancing rather than for crate-diggers, a sideline to a career built first in fashion and then in film and television.
