Dreamy LA synth-pop — velvet vocals gliding over neon retro-wave grooves, 'Fire for You' the breakout.

Cannons trace back to Ryan Clapham and Paul Davis, friends since childhood who had written music together for years before placing a Craigslist ad in search of a singer. Michelle Joy answered it, and the trio built their earliest songs by emailing tracks and vocal ideas back and forth rather than working in a room together.

The band worked its way up through a series of independent releases, starting with the Up All Night EP in 2014, before the debut album Night Drive arrived in 2017 and a further EP, In a Heartbeat, the year after. Their second album, Shadows, followed in 2019 on AntiFragile Music.

"Fire for You", the lead single from Shadows, took off after it was used in a 2020 episode of the television series Never Have I Ever. The song went on to reach number one on the Billboard Alternative Airplay chart, and Cannons signed to Columbia Records on the strength of it.

Further albums have followed at a steady pace: Fever Dream in 2022 and Heartbeat Highway in 2023, with a fifth record, Everything Glows, set for 2026 behind the singles "All I Need" and "Starlight". Cannons also toured the United States as co-headliners alongside Bob Moses on a run billed as the Afterglow Tour.
