Lynn Gunn's project, drifting steadily from rock toward glossy synth-pop without losing the edge — one-woman vision at arena polish.

PVRIS trace back to Lowell, Massachusetts, where an early lineup built around vocalist Lynn Gunn worked through the region's post-hardcore and pop-punk circuit before settling on the name Pvris. The band signed briefly to Tragic Hero Records and played a run on Warped Tour's Battle of the Bands stage in its early years, alongside guitarist Alex Babinski, bassist Brian Macdonald and drummer Brad Griffin.

Lynn Gunn, born Lyndsey Gunnulfsen, became the project's sole permanent member after that original lineup dissolved. She writes, sings and increasingly produces the material herself, steering the band through repeated personnel changes while keeping her voice and vision at the center of it.

The 2014 debut album White Noise paired guitar-driven alternative rock with atmospheric electronics and Gunn's high, clear vocal, and produced singles including 'You and I' and 'My House'. The record set a template that the band would keep reshaping over the following decade.

Later albums pushed further into programmed production and synthpop while keeping the same underlying tension: All We Know of Heaven, All We Need of Hell (2017) featured 'What's Wrong', Use Me (2020) featured 'Hallucinations', and Evergreen (2023) featured 'Goddess'.

Gunn's lyrics have consistently dealt with anxiety, faith and personal reckoning. She has spoken publicly about her identity and about taking fuller creative control of the project's sound and visuals as it moved further from its rock origins.
