Soulwax are a Belgian group from Ghent, formed in 1993 around brothers David and Stephen Dewaele. They began as a guitar band, releasing albums including Much Against Everyone's Advice and Any Minute Now, before moving progressively toward electronic production and remixing — work also carried out under the 2 Many DJs name, whose mash-up mixes were influential in the early 2000s.
The Dewaeles later reworked their own material into the club-oriented Nite Versions, and the live band has for some years been built around multiple drummers playing in unison, giving the performances a percussive, mechanical drive. They also run the Deewee label and studio in Ghent.
