Bright Eyes

1 upcoming festival

Conor Oberst's trembling opus — the confessional songbook of a generation, from basement-tape quiver to orchestral sprawl and back.

Bright Eyes is the long-running project of Conor Oberst, formed in Omaha, Nebraska in the mid-1990s and built around a core of Oberst with multi-instrumentalist Nate Walcott and producer Mike Mogis. The band became one of the defining acts of the Saddle Creek label and of early-2000s American indie folk, known for Oberst's unsteady, high-strung voice and densely worded songs about doubt, politics and private wreckage.

The arrangements have ranged widely across the catalogue, from lo-fi acoustic recordings to full-band rock, country instrumentation and electronic experiments, with Walcott's horn and string charts a recurring feature. After a hiatus in the 2010s, the group resumed recording and touring.
