Alice Phoebe Lou is a South African singer and songwriter, born in Kommetjie near Cape Town, who moved to Berlin and began performing on the street there. She has continued to release her music independently, building an audience largely without conventional label backing.

Her songs tend toward soft, slightly hazy arrangements — clean electric guitar, brushed drums, occasional strings — with her light, breathy voice at the centre. The writing moves between folk directness and looser, dreamier textures, and she often works in a jazz-inflected phrasing that sits at odds with the pop structures underneath. Her song "She" was written for the film Bombshell.
