Fit For A King formed in Tyler, Texas in 2007 and has become one of the more durable American metalcore bands of its generation, releasing steadily through Solid State Records. The group pairs Ryan Kirby's harsh vocals with Bobby Lynge's melodic cleans, a division of labour that gives the songs their characteristic lift out of low, chugging riffs and into big choruses. The writing draws on melodic metalcore and post-hardcore in roughly equal measure, and the live show is built around breakdowns and singalong refrains.
