Florida beatdown with no interest in subtlety — grief and rage compressed into two-minute assaults, as heavy emotionally as it is sonically.

Bodysnatcher formed in Melbourne, Florida, in 2014 and released its debut EP, Abandonment, the following year, working in the overlap between deathcore, beatdown and hardcore. Their songs are short and built around low-tuned, slowed-down breakdown sections, with vocalist Kyle Medina's lyrics dealing largely with loss, depression and anger in blunt first-person terms.

The band has cited groups like Black Tongue, Overthrower, Traitors, King Conquer, Terror and Hatebreed as influences, and their sound has been described as deathcore with a heavy emphasis on hardcore's directness. That places them on the downtempo end of the deathcore scene, where tempo drops and stop-start rhythms matter more than technical speed.

Their studio albums include Death of Me in 2017, This Heavy Void in 2019 and Bleed-Abide in 2022, followed by a second EP, Vile Conduct, in 2024. A fourth album, Hell Is Here, Hell Is Home, followed on MNRK Heavy, preceded by the singles "Blade Between the Teeth" and "The Maker."

The band's lineup is Kyle Medina on vocals, Kyle Carter on guitars, Kyle Shope on bass and Chris Whited on drums.
